Vintage cheese knives from Dumas & Cie
Provenance: Depot Vente- La Dordogne
Taille: 7.5" total length, 4.5" blade, 3" handle
Six knives with slim siver ferrules on their Bakelite handles. No prongs, no serrations, just a wide, smooth blade built for one job: cutting cheese without wreching it. These knives glide clean through Brie, Camembert, Comte, and other soft-to-semi-hard cheeses, and they do just as well with rillettes, pates, and spreads.
Stamped "Dumas & Cie, Véritable Inoxydable" The Dumas name traces back to Thiers, France's historic cutlery capital, with "véritable" marking it as the genuine trademark rather than an imitation, and "inoxydable" simply meaning stainless.
